WoW: Blessed time

My darling girl,

Daddy is putting you down for a nap.  The last 10 weeks he was away I managed to not need to do that at all - literally, you would either sleep in my arms, or more often, in the car on the way to and fro our errands and activities.  Today is a blessed day, as he just drove two 12+ hour days in order to get back to us after his specialty training out of state.  We are so happy being back together.  And yet, I cannot help but look back at the last several months - since October, and thank the Lord for upholding us and protecting us.  We're in a new home, I started back to work, you've been at daycare, and we've had minimal worries outside our daily schedule.  You've been generally healthy, no car or home issues, and you are now mostly sleeping through the night.

I'm thankful to the Lord for not only this, but blessing us with the margin to enjoy our time together and be silly.  We play with the rug before bedtime, mimic each other making funny sounds, bang on the guitar indiscriminately, chase the cat with your legs first, kicking them together like chompers coming to get her, to name a few.  I pray earnestly to the Lord for your health and our sleep, and He has been so faithful to us, His daughters.  In my life I've had to rely on Him and His provision in difficult and unknown circumstances, and these personal experiences is what you save in your heart to draw on for the next challenge.  We remember that God isn't just faithful to those in the Bible long ago, or to someone in a story from another country, but His truth is alive in your life and mine.

So may this past hurdle we've gotten through be your first lesson in God's faithfulness and provision, as He cared for us so tenderly and turned a challenge into special time for Mommy & Baby. I love you <3

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. _Lamentations 3:22-23
